Gizmodo’s own Matt Novak brought this to my attention:
The feature previously required the user to say “Hey Siri”, but now only requires “Siri”.
At least one other Bluesky user confirmed that he had a similar experience. A user on
Another BlueSky user (whose posts are off-limits to those not logged in to BlueSky) posted a Google results page pulled up by Siri following the Siri-triggering line, which included several results about bullets going through legs.
Trump’s statement about Slover’s harrowing story included such gruesome details:
While preparing to land, enemy machine guns fired from every angle and Eric was badly hit in the leg and hip by a series of bullets. He suffered four painful blows, due to which his leg was cut into several pieces. And yet, despite the fact that the use of his legs was critical to a successful helicopter flight – legs are the most important part of flying a helicopter – delivering the many commandos who would capture and detain Maduro was the only thing Eric was thinking about.
Exactly what word or words woke up Siri – “searing” or “severe” or perhaps “…some part of …struck a lot with…” – is not yet entirely clear, but it apparently happened around this very moment.
But if your Siri gets turned on, I expect it will spark another wild night of politics. That speech was harsh, guys!
Siri is expected to get an update from Apple next month.
