Tony the Tattooed Man
Deadline has the word Tracy Lemon (bob travino likes this) has been hired to write and direct a film based on Tony the Tattooed Man For Mattel Studios. Taking inspiration from the “illustrative action figures” briefly introduced to the market in 1992, the toy encouraged children to “decorate their bodies with hand-applied soluble temporary tattoos and constantly customize and re-imagine their appearance.” The film adaptation is said to “reimagine the cult-favorite action figure as the centerpiece of a character-driven drama that blends surreal fantasy with emotional depth.” In a press release, Lemon said that “I was drawn to Tony the Tattooed Man from the moment I saw his name and then learned about his short-lived journey as a discontinued toy. His story is a reminder of the healing power of second chances and don’t judge a book – or a person – by their cover, a message I believe the world needs right now. It’s an honor to partner with Mattel, a true partner to artists. On a film that will help restore our faith in humanity.”

Clea Duvall and George Lendeborg Jr. have joined the cast, Deadline reports the last of us. Duvall will reportedly play an unnamed member of the Seraphites cult while Lendeborg will replace Danny Ramirez in the role of Manny.
