Now on Thanksgiving, he’s about to see his journey come to an end on the halftime stage. The artist is the headliner of “The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show” at AT&T Stadium during the Dallas Cowboys’ performance against the Kansas City Chiefs.
It’s a position Post Malone has certainly become familiar with.
Often wearing cowboy gear, the singer-songwriter has performed at the venue before – though this might be one of his biggest audiences to date.
The artist also has the honor of performing the halftime show for his or her favorite team, but the artist’s ties go a little deeper than traditional fans.

Appearances at Cowboys games are nothing new for the artist and he regularly sports the team’s gear wherever he is. As if there was any doubt, he also confirmed it.
“I’m from Texas,” Post Malone said in a statement via the Cowboys’ official site. “I have grown up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years. It is a true honor to be a part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”
Post Malone’s father worked food and beverage for the team, meaning the artist would occasionally sleep in the stadium when he was young.
Team owner Jerry Jones shared his excitement about a story about the halftime show regarding Post Malone’s relationship with the Cowboys.
“Extremely excited,” Jones said, via The Athletic . “You know his background. He used to come every night and sleep at (Texas Stadium) when his dad was in charge of all our beverages. And he slept there for years, because his mom worked. And then she would finish her work and then he would go home. (When he) was a little boy. Oh, yes, for many years. Maybe four or five (years). There was a cot for him and he would sleep.”
From behind the scenes to being front and center, Post Malone’s cowboy journey has been complete.
