The famous couple, who married in 1998, live in a $16.5 million estate in California, with Streisand, 83, preferring to stay out of the spotlight these days.
The three-acre property includes four houses, a koi pond, and a colorful flower garden. A source claimed, “Barbara’s world is her home.” “She has James, her dogs, her gardens. It’s heaven. She doesn’t need anything else.”
According to Rob Shuter of Substack, another insider said, “She prefers simple pleasures now. She no longer cares about movie premieres or awards shows. She’s gotten rid of the chaos of Hollywood. She’s earned her peace.”
“She’s given everything to the world. Now she wants to live quietly, beautifully and privately,” a source told RadarOnline.
“Covid troubled us for a long time. And many people’s marriages did not go well during these 15 months,” he said. “We’ve really fallen in love over this period, just being together every day and making it work.”
Brolin, 85, is now starring in the Netflix series Ransom Canyon, while Streisand is focused on her family.
According to a source close to the couple, Brolin has become “more outgoing.”

“She needed complete privacy when she was writing her book,” a source said, referring to Streisand’s nearly 1,000-page memoir, My Name Is Barbara, most of which she reportedly wrote in bed.
“But now that she’s got projects that are taking her away, she’s nervous. She insists that she trusts him, but she’s extremely cautious about what will happen when she’s not around.”
This happened after Streisand faced some backlash on Instagram on November 29 after she posted a Thanksgiving-themed photo of her stepdaughter Molly smiling while the children sat at a table across from her.
“My stepdaughter Molly and I are having fun at Thanksgiving with all the kids drawing pictures and trying to make little necklaces!” Streisand captioned the post.
Fans were quick to point out a detail in the background of the photo as at least four employees could be seen working in the dining area.
One user wrote, “And a lot of employees are asking themselves why they are not at home with their families.”
Another said, “Hysterical! Traditional Thanksgiving, servants and everything. You make Trump look good.”
A third wondered, “I wonder if the hired workers want to be with their families.”
Another wrote, “And the servants. Do you see them?”
The photo is believed to have been taken at Brolin and Streisand’s Malibu home.
