Fallout Season 2 starts December 17th, and we’re so excited it feels like we’re huffing jets. We’re going to Vegas, baby: the location of the best Fallout RPG (and one of the best classic RPGs of all time), and we’re ready to see what Sin City looks like 20 years after the events of Fallout: New Vegas, when Fallout shows up.
We’re also curious if we’ll see some familiar faces. Fallout: New Vegas is full of interesting and memorable characters, and if I were a betting man I’d bet some chips that we’ll see at least one or two people (or mutants) we know from the games on the show.
Mister House 🎰 Odds: 1/1

We know for sure that Mr. House is in Fallout Season 2 – the teaser shows him as a pre-war Mr. House, played by Justin Theroux, and the trailer shows him as a post-war Mr. House, a digital face on a TV screen. It wouldn’t be New Vegas without him.
But didn’t Mr. House die in some playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas? You can kill Mr. House in the game (I’m sure), but that was probably written in for the show. The post-war scene in the trailer may be a flashback to the post-war period but First New Vegas events, right? Or who knows: maybe there was a backup of Mr. House’s mind on a hard drive somewhere, and someone restored it in Lucky 38 in the years after New Vegas ended. Mr. House is very good at overcoming obstacles.
Mister New Vegas 📻 Odds: 2/1

In Fallout 3 I played a bad guy, and as a bad guy I didn’t like hearing bad things said about me on the radio, so I found DJ, Three Dog, and killed him. However, you can’t kill DJ in Fallout: New Vegas, as he’s not actually alive to begin with. Mister New is a voice created by Mister House on Vegas radio, not a real person – although that voice is played by a real person: famous Vegas singer Wayne Newton.
It seems likely that Mr. New Vegas will be heard at some point in Fallout Season 2: Wayne Newton looks like he’d be game for anything, and even in his 80s he’s still performing in Vegas and around the country. I think there’s a good chance he’ll reprise his role.
(By the way, Three Dog was replaced by an intern. She was not happy about it.)
Raul Tejada 🛠️ Odds: 3/1

I would love to see more talking ghosts in Fallout Season 2 than wild ones, and if you were making a TV show and you had a chance to bring Danny Trejo in for a few scenes, wouldn’t you do it? Trejo voiced the ghoul Raul Tejada in Fallout: New Vegas, who was not just an NPC but a wonderful player companion. And there’s no reason why he wouldn’t still be around in Vegas 20 years later: he’s a ghost and was already over 200 years old in the game. Surviving is all he does.
The only reason I say Raoul doesn’t deserve to be shown in Season 2 is because we already have a ghoul with a pre-war history wandering the wastes – Goggins’ ghoul – so keeping another similar archetype around might be a bit redundant. There are only eight episodes and not much room for extras.
Veronica Santangelo ✍️ Odds: 4/1

With the show having a big focus on Maximus’s adventures with the Brotherhood of Steel, there’s a possibility that another companion from Fallout: New Vegas could appear: Veronica. There are definitely hints of increased BoS activity in the trailer, which shows several Brotherhood airships above the desert. I’m not sure Veronica would still be with the Brotherhood after all this time, but in New Vegas she was willing to reform them.
Veronica was voiced by Felicia Day, who would be a lot of fun to see on the show – and she also wielded a powerful fist, which we see Lucy use briefly in the trailer. Maybe he got it from Veronica? There is also some speculation from fans that the voice we hear at the beginning of the teaser could be Veronica’s.
Billy Knight 🤡 Odds: 5/1

Billy Knight, a comedian who called himself the “King of Zing”, was living in New Vegas hoping for his big break. His jokes are the worst kind of Henny Youngman one-liners-I have been in love with the same woman for 17 years. If my wife ever finds out she will kill me!-But it’s hard not to like the little weasel, who was voiced in the game by comedian Rob Corddry.
I’m having a hard time believing that someone wouldn’t have killed Billy for one of his weird jokes after 20 long years, or that he wouldn’t have just been fired, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he shows up in Fallout Season 2, if only to see Lucy pretend she thinks he’s funny just to be polite. I’d also like to see how long the Ghoul chooses to endure his terrifying zingers.
Marcus 🔥🏾 Odds: 6/1

Marcus is a super mutant who appeared in both Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. Unlike most of the super mutants in the game, he is not out for blood, but envisions a world where mutants and humans can co-exist. Oh! Fans are speculating that Marcus will appear in Fallout Season 2 because midway through the trailer, we hear a deep voice saying to The Ghoul: “Okay, then, you’re going to need friends. A war is coming.”
Marcus is a perfect fit for the show as he’s been around the Wasteland for decades, so The Ghoul almost certainly knows him. The thing is, Marcus was voiced by the iconic Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek) and the (admittedly heavily modified) voice we hear in the trailer doesn’t sound like Dorn’s Marcus to me. I hope it’s him, I’m not sure it’s him.
Boon 🎯 Odds: 8/1

In Fallout: New Vegas Craig Boone isn’t just a partner – he’s the best partner. I’d be very happy if he showed up in Fallout Season 2, and the trailer gives us a glimpse of the location where we first met the Sniper, the Dino D-Lite Motel in Novak.
But Boone probably won’t be lugging around that giant plaster dinosaur 20 years later. Depending on how you completed his personal quest, Boon is most likely hanging out with the NCR, but they weren’t doing so well in Season 1 of the Fallout series, with Shady Sands being turned into glass. I think Boone is still alive and doing well. I certainly don’t expect to find out in Fallout Season 2.
Lanius ⚔️ Odds: 25/1

We definitely see the Legion in the Season 2 trailer, but it would be hard to incorporate Leggett Lanius into the show. Being second in command for Caesar’s army in New Vegas, I’m sure most players killed this brutal warlord, so if he’s still stomping around in the TV series nearly 20 years later it would invalidate a lot of people’s games.
But it is not necessary that he is dead. You can take Lanius’ side in the game, or if your speech skills are good enough, convince him to give up the fight, so it’s entirely possible that he’ll survive long enough to get to the show. I don’t think it’s very likely, even if the army is still moving.
Mysterious Stranger 🕵️♂️ Odds: 100/1

Look, the Mysterious Stranger makes no sense. A guy in a trench coat monitoring players throughout the game, occasionally interjecting and firing a few bullets at your enemy before disappearing? That’s not even a character, that’s a perk. There’s no way he’s getting on the show – they’d have to stop everything to explain to a non-gamer audience why some weird guys in fedoras suddenly appeared, killed someone, then disappeared, and that explanation would be bullshit.
But. I want He has to come to the show. somehow. Games are a lot of fun when it comes to that. And I think that may come, but not in Season 2. In the final season of Fallout, no matter how many seasons it goes on, I’m sure they’ll pull out all the stops and we’ll finally see the Mysterious Stranger revealed. For a second. And then he will go away.
Courier 📦 Odds: 10,000/1

The Courier must be referenced in Fallout Season 2, right? He was hired by House to deliver a platinum chip to Vegas and single-handedly transformed the city and shaped the political structure of the Wasteland for decades to come.
Problem? The Courier is the player, making it almost impossible to accurately portray the voice of them on-screen or even off-screen. Maybe we’ll hear about them from a character, maybe there will be some references or Easter eggs, but is the Courier actually appearing in Fallout Season 2? I wouldn’t bet on it.
