This is a true early access build, so don’t expect a great experience. Developer Hypixel Studios says that “it is still very incomplete and will be bugged for some time” but that the team is committed to improving the game over time. “I don’t think the game is good yet,” studio co-founder Simon Collins-LaFlamme recently said, “so make of it what you will.”

It’s been a long road to getting to Early Access, with enough ups and downs to fuel the boardroom drama. Riot reportedly purchased the studio in 2020, to continue the work HytaleHowever, the company is behind League of Legends After a few years the concept soured. It closed down Hypixel Studios earlier this year and ended development of the game.
This should have been the end, but it didn’t happen. Hypixel managed to secure funding to buy back the rights from Riot and brought Hytale back from the dead. The company rehired a group of employees who were affected by Riot’s decision and got to work. Just a day after the acquisition was announced, Hypixel showed off several new footage of the game. This is what kids call “flex”.
In any case, it’s nice to have a happy ending for once. Hytale It may not be a polished product when it releases early access in January, but I’m confident it will get there.
