The US and Israel launched strikes across Iran on Saturday, after US President Donald Trump said Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had died.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Khamenei’s compound in Tehran was destroyed in a “powerful, surprise attack”.
Iranian state media later confirmed Khamenei’s death.
Iran responded to the US-Israeli attack by launching missiles and drones toward Israel and four Gulf Arab countries that host US military bases: Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
