There is a new broadcast home for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.

It’s called Detroit SportsNet.

Detroit SportsNet, powered by Major League Baseball, has become the home of all locally televised Tigers games beginning in the 2026 season and Red Wings games beginning in the 2026-27 season, as announced by Ilitch Sports + Entertainment on Monday, March 2.

Both Tigers and Red Wings games will be available via in-market streaming throughout the year, while a television channel is expected to be offered in cable and satellite packages throughout Michigan.

Detroit SportsNet subscriptions, priced at $19.99 per month or $189.99 per year, are now live.

Fans can learn more about in-market streaming subscriptions for the Tigers and Red Wings at Tigers.com/detroitsportsnet and DetroitRedWings.com/detroitsportsnet.

“Given the recent uncertainty in the regional sports broadcasting industry, we understand the importance of providing fans a consistent, year-round outlet to watch Tigers baseball and Red Wings hockey,” Ryan Gustafson, president and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, said in a statement. “We have two of the top-rated broadcasts in our respective sports and we’re focused on listening to fans on what matters most to them. What we’ve heard includes making sure our games are available across markets, providing a reliable streaming product, and creating a broadcast that is informative and entertaining in all the right ways. This is a great way to move forward in those areas, allowing us to deliver a great experience for fans in our local market.”

Here’s everything you need to know about Detroit SportsNet:

What is Detroit Sportsnet?

There is currently a digital product on sale that will offer Tigers games (on the MLB app) starting in the 2026 season and Red Wings games (on a scheduled app) starting in the 2026–27 season. There will be a separate linear channel that Ilitch Sports + Entertainment will present to fans once finalized, where fans will be able to watch Opening Day (and the Red Wings starting in September 2026) starting on March 26.

How much will Detroit SportsNet cost?

Fans can pay $19.99 per month or $189.99 for the entire year – a savings of over 20% over 12 months. Fans who sign up for Detroit SportsNet by March 22 can take advantage of the $0 introductory offer for Tigers games through April 1, including Opening Day on March 26.

I signed up for FanDuel. Do I need to subscribe to Detroit SportsNet again?

Yes. You will no longer find Tigers games on FanDuel Sports Network, and after the Red Wings’ regular season ends on April 15, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment will no longer have a relationship with FanDuel. Fans will need to subscribe separately for Detroit SportsNet, as it is a completely different subscription than the one they currently have. FanDuel Sports Network customers should contact FanDuel directly to cancel their subscription.

Do I have to pay separately for Wings and Tigers this spring?

Yes, for about two weeks. That’s the difference between the Red Wings finishing their 2025-26 season and the Tigers starting their 2026 season.

What about the Detroit Pistons?

Ilitch Sports + Entertainment is not affiliated with the Pistons. At this time, Pistons games will not be available on Detroit SportsNet.

How to stream Tigers and Red Wings games?

The new streaming home for the Tigers is the MLB app, available across web, mobile and TV platforms – with access to highlights, stats and news. As far as the Red Wings are concerned, more details will be shared in the coming months regarding a service to stream games for the 2026-27 season.

Will there be a single app for both teams?

No, there will not be a single app on which both the teams will be available at one place. Fans will need to download the MLB app to stream Tigers games and a designated app to stream Red Wings games.

Where to watch the Tigers and Red Wings game on TV?

Discussions are ongoing with cable and satellite distributors. Once agreements are finalized, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment will share a list of providers carrying Detroit SportsNet, along with specific channel assignments.

What happens to broadcasters?

Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond are expected to continue leading Red Wings broadcasts for years to come. The same is true for Jason Bennati (and Dan Dickerson) with analysts Andy Dirks and Dan Petrie on Tigers broadcasts. They are all Tigers and Red Wings staffers and will remain in their current roles, along with reporters Daniella Bruce and Logan Rivers who cover both teams.
