How Arizona State makes title game

Arizona State needed to win its final two games and get help in the form of losses to contenders to get back to the Big 12 title game.

The Sun Devils defeated the Colorado Buffaloes in a 42–17 road game to stay in the race.

There are two simple scenarios that lead the Sun Devils to the title game in the final week of the Big 12 schedule. It starts with Arizona State needing to beat Arizona in the Territorial Cup on Friday at Mountain America Stadium. This is a necessity.

ASU didn’t get much help early Friday as No. 12 Utah defeated Kansas, narrowing the Sun Devils’ odds of winning the Big 12 title game from three to two.

ASU will now need help in two other games: No. 5 Texas Tech visiting West Virginia (10 a.m. Saturday) and UCF visiting No. 11 BYU (11 a.m. Saturday).

Here are two scenarios Sun Devil fans can support:

Scenario 1: Texas Tech won, BYU lost
