Houston weather: More rain for most of Monday

Prepare yourself for a wintry start to the week with dull, cold rain on Monday.

We saw a tornado over Southeast Texas Saturday night.

The cold front produced a series of storms that were not severe, but flash flooding was a concern. Parts of Houston saw rainfall rates in excess of 2 inches per hour. Nearly 4 inches of rain fell in a 24-hour period along the I-45 corridor.

Prepare yourself for a wintry start to the week with dull, cold rain on Monday. Make sure you allow extra time for your morning journey when going back after the holidays as there is a possibility of widespread rain for most of the day on Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday are bringing some cool mornings with low temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s.

So plan for a cool start to December and get your coats ready!

concern about flash floods

The threat of flash flooding will continue tomorrow also. Inch of rain is expected in the next few days.

There is a possibility of rain starting tomorrow morning till afternoon.

Although the region is still mostly in drought and welcomes some rainfall, too much rain in a short period of time will lead to flooding of roads. With lands already saturated, our coastal counties are at a level 1 in 4 risk of flash flooding for Monday.
