After celebrating Prime Day at the beginning of the year, last Friday we all solemnly celebrated the passing of Black Friday, the day where we celebrate the demise of the great Optimus Prime during his apocalyptic battle with that most despicable and most treacherous of Decepticons, Megatron (may both his name and his energy be cursed forever). But then, as everyone knows, just as our worst times approached, Optimus Prime was resurrected from death and returned to us! The Monday long ago, when this unprecedented event occurred, was the day when hope returned – the day when everyone, human and machine alike, was united in joy. It was truly a Monday for all of Cybertron – a “Cyber Monday” if you will.
Today in 2025, we pause to remember how the power of the AllSpark and the collective wisdom of the Primes have breached the Veil of Death, breaking down the barrier between the world of the living and the world beyond – and through that power, Optimus Prime now comes among us again and it’s not strange at all! (Though I guess there might be some spores or something? I don’t know, it was a long time ago.) To show our joy at the return of the Greatest Transformer when he takes back the reins of Autobot leadership from Rodimus Prime – who, let’s face it, sucked anyway – it’s time to do what we did on Black Friday but even harder: it’s time to do Engage in more festive commerce!
