
Hampstead Theater has announced its plans for 2026 featuring the European premiere of a Broadway musical kimberly akimboFive world or European play premieres, and Stanley Tucci’s London stage directorial debut.

The 2026 program includes the world premiere of Alexie K. Campbell’s new play, Bird GroveDirected by Anna Ledwich. It focuses on George Eliot, exploring themes of family relationships and self-determination. Bird Grove The event runs from 13 February to 21 March on the venue’s main stage.
the devil Wears Prada And Stanley Tucci: Discovering Italy Star Stanley Tucci will direct the world premiere of springwood by Richard Nelson, marking Tucci’s London stage directorial debut. The play is based on a meeting between King George VI and President Roosevelt in 1939. It comes into main phase from 19th June to 25th July.
Three more premieres are scheduled for Hampstead Downstairs. Aaron Loeb’s ROI (Return on Investment)Directed by Chelsea Walker, Loeb’s UK debut film has its world premiere. This refers to a venture capitalist backing an entrepreneur’s invention. It runs from 6 March to 11 April.
firewing is the first play by David Pearson, a graduate of the Hampstead Theater Inspire programme. Directed by Hampstead’s Associate Director Alice Hamilton, the play features a wildlife photographer and his apprentice searching for firewings. Its world premiere is from 17 April to 23 May.
Joshua Harmon’s we had a world It received its European premiere after an Off-Broadway run. The play explores Harmon’s New York childhood and family relationships over 30 years. Directed by Josh Seymour, it will run down from May 29 to July 4.

Beyond the stage, Hampstead Theater has received a second year of funding from Camden Council for its “Engage” program for adults at risk of loneliness and isolation in Camden, in partnership with Camden Disability Action, Camden Carers and The Winch. Participants will have access to creative writing and dramatic sessions, community nights and a large-scale community production on the main stage.
The theater will continue to offer £10 tickets for all performances. A new Yuva Mitra Scheme will be launched in 2026, in which benefits will be given to people below 30 years of age.
Priority booking for Patrons opens on Friday 28th November, for Friends Plus on Tuesday 2nd December, for Friends on Wednesday 3rd December, and for Young Friends on Thursday 4th December. Public booking opens at 10.30am on Friday 5th December.
