Gwen Stefani shut down rumors that she and husband Blake Shelton have split with a PDA photo.
The No Doubt singer, 56, posted a photo of herself kissing the 49-year-old country singer on the cheek on her Instagram Stories on Friday. Stefani, wearing a red flannel shirt and with blonde hair, smiled calmly at the camera in the selfie.
She didn’t caption the photo and let the PDA do the talking.
Shelton’s rep also told Page Six of the split rumors, “This is a completely made up story created just for headlines and clicks.”
Speculation intensified that the pair had split after she did not attend the CMA Awards on November 19, despite Shelton being nominated in the Musical Event of the Year category for the Post Malone song, “Pour Me a Drink”.
Stefani hasn’t posted with Shelton on her Instagram since June, when she wished him a happy birthday.
As for Shelton, he publicly wished Stefani a happy birthday in October.
Fans also speculated about the status of their marriage after the release of their duet “Hangin’ On” – which is about a breakup – in March.
Shelton told Access Hollywood about the song, “It’s not really a reflection of where Gwen and I are in our relationship — I hope.”
“We wanted to do it, you know?” He continued. “It’s a song that inspires us vocally, and we love this song. We’re at a point in our lives where we just want to do songs that we love, and then see what happens, I guess, afterward.”
The couple has been married since July 2021. This is the second marriage for Stefani and the third for Shelton. The “Cool” singer was previously married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale from 2002-2016. Shelton was married to Kaynette Williams from 2003–2006, then to Miranda Lambert from 2011–2015.
In April, Stefani discussed the best advice she ever received about love during her appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show”, saying that there was an important third party in her marriage with Shelton.
