GTA 6 Development Footage Leaks Online Before Being Scrubbed From the Internet — but It Didn’t Reveal Much at All and We’ve Even Seen Part of It Before in an Official Screenshot

Development footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 in progress appeared online over the weekend before being removed from the internet. But while Rockstar’s highly anticipated sequel has faced substantial and damaging leaks in the past, this latest leak is something else entirely.

Eagle-eyed leak hunters revealed an animation reel uploaded to Vimeo by a developer who has worked on several Rockstar games. It contained three snippets of development footage clearly showing GTA 6 (they were actually labeled as such).

As you’d expect, the video was pulled from Vimeo, but the Internet took notice and so GTA 6 clips have been circulating. There are three different clips, each brief and showing animations of what the test map looks like.

The first shows a male character taking out and putting a bike into a rental bicycle rack. We see the words ‘Limebike’ on the frame of the bike, which is likely a copy of the real-life Limebike rental bicycles. No big surprises for GTA 6! And we also saw this bike rental system in the official GTA 6 screenshots released by Rockstar earlier this year.

Useless
You can see GTA 6’s bike rental system in official form in the bottom center of this screenshot, just above the bus. Image Credit: Rockstar.

The other two, equally brief clips, show a female character, presumably Lucia, emerging from the back of a pickup truck at various stages. Again, nothing to write home about.

Seriously, these are very brief animation clips to do They give hints of what we can expect from GTA 6 when it finally comes out, but they don’t tell us anything we didn’t already know. Of course you’ll be able to rent bikes in GTA 6; It was right there in the screenshot above. And of course you’ll be able to jump out of a pickup truck. This is GTA 6 we’re talking about!

And let’s remember that you’ll see these animations as finished when you’re actually playing GTA 6 – amazingly detailed and high quality, as you’d expect from Rockstar.

This actual leak comes on the heels of the viral AI-generated GTA 6 gameplay leak, whose creator claimed it was all part of a social experiment. In response to Rockstar’s GTA 6 Trailer 3, fans are certainly excited. In the meantime we’ve got lots more on GTA 6 How the Internet reacted to the GTA 6 delayAnd No wonder it was delayed at first,
