It appears that Google is banning the use of Disney characters in AI-generated videos on YouTube after it was hit with a cease and desist letter. According to the report of And The company removed dozens of videos featuring Deadpool, Moana, Mickey Mouse, Star Wars characters and other Disney IP as of Friday, just days after they were found to “largely infringe Disney’s copyrights.” In the letter, seen by both publications earlier this week, Google was asked not only to host these videos on YouTube, but also to use copyrighted works to train models, including VO and Nano Banana.
Before that, as well as – both are being sued over AI-related copyright infringement. But, that doesn’t mean it’s avoiding AI-generated content altogether. The company will bring Disney characters to Sora and ChatGPIT on Friday and AI-generated shorts from Sora to Disney+.
