If you are passionate about improving the lives of older people and people with disabilities, we would love for you to apply!

We created GoGo for our grandparents and were amazed to see it impacting the lives of hundreds of thousands of seniors across the United States and Canada. What surprised us then, and still does, is that 30 to 40% of our new signups have smartphones. We didn’t understand why. When we called some people and asked, they told us that Uber and Lyft had ‘stopped working’ for them.

After racking our brains over it for months, we realized what the problem was.

Managing transportation on Lyft, Uber, cab companies, etc. is not easy. This is a ‘self-service’ experience. The person requesting the ride needs to be aware of things like the driver canceling, getting lost, the driver not showing up, the driver not getting completely lost as soon as a couple goes home across the street.

Then add the complexities of smartphones: The user has to stay on top of updating their own credit cards – making sure the pickup PIN is in the right place – typing in where they are and where they’re going. In total, requesters have to take about a dozen online and offline “micro steps” to get a ride. And God help anyone who needs to remember their Apple iCloud password to update an app.

We didn’t know this when we started, but it turns out that as you get older, ordering and managing a ride becomes more difficult, much like it becomes more difficult to drive a car as you get older.

Now what excites us (and what we’re hiring for) is that technically this ‘self-management problem’ isn’t just limited to rides. There are many things that become harder to do as we age. People have known this for a long time and it has inspired many of the solutions that older adults currently have.

Based on our experiences so far, we believe that by becoming a ‘management layer’ for the things that older adults struggle with as they age, we have a better chance of providing independence to older citizens without asking them to leave their homes.

Within the next ten years the number of people over the age of 65 will exceed the number of people under the age of 18 for the first time in history. 11,000,000 people over the age of 75 will stop driving due to age-related cognitive or physical decline. When they can no longer drive, they will be forced to rely on friends and family, live in the community, or rely on caregivers. GoGo is working to ensure that losing your youth doesn’t have to mean losing your freedom.

Joining us at this time is a really exciting opportunity for people looking to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. We are a small team that has built a profitable and fast growing business over the last three years. Now we’re looking for partners to join us as we make Gogo a household name.

Anyone joining GoGo at this stage of the company will have a huge and life-changing impact on its sizeable and growing user base. We want people to have rich and meaningful lives at any age. We are bringing life, freedom and hope to people one day at a time.
