Chad Powers will finally get a chance to finish off his electric season with the South Georgia Catfish.
Hulu renews Glen Powell-led comedy series Chad Powers As for the second season, the streamer revealed on Wednesday. Powell is returning as the main character.
The series is based on the ESPN and Omaha Productions segment “Ellie’s Places”, where Eli Manning disguised himself in prosthetics to attend walk-on tryouts at Penn State.

The Season 1 finale was somewhat of an up-and-down affair, as Chad and the Catfish took the field to face the Georgia Bulldogs and, for the first time, probably won. At the same time, the walls are closing in on Russ as his secret identity threatens to be revealed at any moment.
The final scene was shot during an actual Georgia Bulldogs football game, and Waldron previously told Deadline that he wants to continue trying to incorporate as much authentic SEC football as possible in future seasons. He also says that he and Powell want to tell the story “in real time”, meaning that season 2 will likely begin immediately after the events of the first season.
Chad Powerswhich debuted on September 30, ranked number 34 on Luminate’s Top 50 Streaming Shows for that week, with nearly 1.6 million hours watched for just one episode. The following week, it rose to number 19 with 2.2M hours watched across two episodes. It remained reliably on Luminate’s rankings during its six-episode run.
