Giants agree to terms with S Jason Pinnock, pending physical

The New York Giants have agreed to terms with safety Jason Pinnock pending a physical, according to reports.

Pinnock played three seasons with the Giants before spending last year in San Francisco, where he appeared in all 17 games and made seven starts. From 2022–24, Pinnock played in 46 games for the Giants with 37 starts.

Overall, his career numbers include 263 total tackles (13 for loss), 11 pass defense, 11 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two interceptions – one of which he returned 102 yards for a touchdown for the Giants in 2023.

This is tied for the longest interception return in Giants history. On October 15, 1961, Erich Barnes intercepted a pass in Dallas and returned it 102 yards for a score.

Pinnock’s pick was the third in Giants history to be returned for at least 100 yards. Henry Carr had a 101-yard touchdown against the LA Rams on November 13, 1966.

Pinnock entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft choice by the Jets in 2021.

Before that, he appeared in 42 games over four years (2017–20) at the University of Pittsburgh.
