Written and directed by relative newcomer Kari Barker, Passion The film centers on a man named Bear (Michael Johnston) who is in love with his good friend Nikki (Inde Navarrete). Unfortunately for Bear, Nikki doesn’t feel the same way. So when Bear receives a gag gift called “One Wish Willow”, he sees no harm in randomly wishing that Nikki loved him more than anything in the world. What’s the worst that could happen? Wishes don’t come true, right? Correct? Here’s the latest teaser trailer Passion.
That teaser sets the stakes and starts to hint at where everything is going, but there’s more. Kari Barker takes things to the extreme in the film in a way that will definitely delight horror fans but also disturb a lot of people. Johnston is great in the film as a hopeless romantic who makes a terrible mistake, but Navarrete is the true breakout. The way she portrays this woman who is incapable of doing anything except loving this man is hair-raising. Plus, there are some really messy layers in the display. We think he has a bright future.
So get ready. It’s set to be one of the best horror movies of the year. In fact, it already is in our eyes. Co-starring Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter, Passion Will be released in all theaters on 15th May. Also see the killer teaser poster here:
