Get ready for new Macs and iPads: Apple announces “Special Experience” on March 4

Apple March 4

It may be more tempting to take the older Mac you’ve been pampering and put it out to pasture sooner. Apple has announced an event for March 4, which, in typical Apple fashion, it has named a “Special Apple Experience.” Also in typical Apple style, it hasn’t come out and said what it’s going to announce. However, we have a pretty good idea.

The event begins at 9 a.m. ET on March 4 — Arce will be on the ground in New York City to cover Apple’s latest unveiling, in whatever form it takes. Apple doesn’t release most products on schedule, but some recent speculation about potential hardware updates may point us in the right direction.

As we recently reported, the iPhone 17e may appear in Apple’s lineup soon. This updated version of the budget-oriented iPhone will feature an A19 chip similar to the one powering the base model iPhone 17. MagSafe charging can also be added to it. However, don’t expect to see a multi-camera array like you get on more expensive Apple phones. The price will be the most important thing to look at if Apple announces this phone. Right now, the non-Pro iPhone 16 and 17 (including the 16e) are all clustered in the $600-800 range. Another $599 budget iPhone won’t cause a stir.
