Judge Scott McAfee in the southern state of Georgia ruled that the case against Trump has been ‘completely dismissed.’
A Georgia prosecutor has dropped charges pending against Donald Trump over allegations of interference in the 2020 election by the President of the United States and his allies.
Judge Scott McAfee on Wednesday granted a request to drop the prosecution, ending the final set of criminal charges against Trump.

“This case is dismissed in its entirety,” McAfee wrote.
Trump faces four impeachments in 2024 while he is out of office. Only one case was heard in New York.
He was found guilty of falsifying business records in connection with the payment of hush money to an adult film actress and sentenced to an “unconditional discharge” to avoid any penalties such as fines, probation or jail time.
Two sets of federal charges against Trump – one alleging election interference and the other alleging mishandling of classified government documents – were dropped after Trump was re-elected president in November last year.
Prosecutors had already suffered a setback in the Georgia case when Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was disqualified from the case for having a romantic relationship with one of her top deputies.
The case in Georgia focused on Trump’s call with Brad Raffensperger, the state’s top elections official, after the 2020 vote in which he said he wanted to “find 11,780 votes” to overturn the election.
Trump had dismissed the victory of his would-be successor, former President Joe Biden, and falsely alleged that widespread voter fraud was behind the results.
In 2023, Willis charged Trump and 16 of his associates who challenged the election results in the state with a series of vote-related crimes.
The US president – who made a spectacular return to the White House earlier this year – has always denied any wrongdoing in the cases against him, calling them a politically motivated “witch hunt”.
