Gemini gets notebooks to help you organize projects

Google’s Gemini is getting a feature called “Notebooks” to help organize things about certain topics in one place while using the AI chatbot, the company announced Wednesday. You can drag things like files, past conversations, and custom instructions into the notebook that Gemini can use as a reference when you’re talking with him.

Notebooks seem a lot like ChatGPIT’s Projects feature, which launched in 2024 and similarly lets users store things about a certain topic in one place. Google says that “starting with Gemini, think of notebooks as a base of personal knowledge shared across Google products.” Gemini’s notebooks also sync with Google’s NotebookLM AI research tool, meaning sources you add when using one app will appear in both.

According to Google, Gemini notebooks are becoming available on the web this week for customers of Google’s AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus plans. The feature will be coming to mobile and free users in the “coming weeks.”
