For the second time in three weeks, Detroit Lions running back Jahmir Gibbs is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
When the former Alabama ball-carrier won the award for Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season, he rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and caught three passes for 30 yards and a touchdown in a 44–22 win over the Washington Commanders on November 9.
Gibbs received the award for Week 12 after rushing for 219 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and catching 11 passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 34–27 overtime win against the New York Giants.
Rushing for yards and yards from scrimmage, Gibbs scored on a 69-yard touchdown run on the first snap of the overtime period, while reaching a career high for single-game receptions.
Gibbs joins LaDainian Tomlinson in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as the only players in NFL history to have 200 rushing yards and 10 receptions in the same game.

Gibbs also won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 18 of the 2024 season. He became the third former Alabama running back with at least three Player of the Week awards, joining Derrick Henry, who has nine, and Shaun Alexander, who has seven.

Other Player of the Week award winners for Week 12 were Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, AFC Offensive; San Francisco 49ers safety J’Jair Brown, NFC defensive back; Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, AFC defensive end; Atlanta Falcons kicker Zane Gonzalez, NFC special teams; and New England Patriots kicker Andy Borregales, AFC special teams.
Gibbs is one of five alumni from Alabama high schools and colleges to win Player of the Week awards during the NFL’s 2025 season. New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones (Enterprise, Troy) was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the fourth week, New Orleans Saints cornerback Gaquincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry (Pinson Valley, Alabama) was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean (Auburn) was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the sixth week. He was NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Florida and Carolina. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (Alabama) was the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the 11th week.
