Effect:

Southern Vermont will see the longest and heaviest snowfall tomorrow. Snowfall rates may exceed 1″ per hour at times, resulting in extremely reduced visibility and rapid snowfall on roadways.

With temperatures in the 20s on Tuesday morning, it won’t take long for snow to accumulate on the roads. Slick areas may begin to emerge during the morning commute, with extensive slicks and snow-covered roads possible.

The heaviest snowfall rates are expected from late morning to early afternoon, amounting to about a half-inch per hour across the region, with locally higher rates in southern Vermont.

Plan for hazardous travel conditions in central and southern Vermont. Smooth spots are also likely in the northern part of our area. If you have to be out on the roads, please use caution.
