‘Final Fantasy’ Composer Nobuo Uematsu Is Getting a Biography

Nobuo Uematsu’s music has been throughout Square Enix games, including final Fantasy The series, and an upcoming book will chart his tenure.

Viz Media announced on Friday Nobuo Uematsu: On the record, An “intimate biography” by author James Mielke. Like the publisher’s other biographies – which focus on Hideo Kojima, Hayao Miyazaki, and the late Satoru Iwata – readers can expect Mielke’s chronicle of Uematsu to include information about his starting point and the big moments of his work as a composer of the aforementioned JRPG series. Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon, and more.

For former fans, series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi will contribute an introduction about his longtime friend and collaborator.

As Mielke described it, the book would be “the definitive history on Uematsu”. [It’s] full of surprising revelations about final Fantasy The musician the public has never heard of, as shared by him and those close to him.”
