  • The 11th FIFA Arab Cup, hosted by Qatar, will begin in the capital Doha on Monday.
  • Tunisia will face Syria and Qatar will host Palestine on the opening day of the tournament.
  • The final will take place on December 18 at the iconic 89,000-seat Lusail Stadium.
  • A total of six venues have been selected, all of which were used during the 2022 World Cup.
  • The 16 participating teams will be divided into four groups, with a total of 32 matches.
  • The group stage will run until 9 December, while the knockout stage will begin on 11 December.

Format

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the knockout stage, which consists of quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final. There is also a third-place playoff between the two semi-finalists.

In the knockout stage, if a match is tied at the end of normal playing time, there will be 30 minutes of extra time and, if necessary, penalties.
