Omarion Hampton (ankle) will not return in Week 13 against the Raiders, which means Kimani Vidal will get another chance to be at the helm for the Chargers. And he should be considered a sleeper for this matchup.
Vidal had a bad game in Week 11 at Jacksonville, when he had five catches for 13 yards and two catches for minus-1 yard on two targets, but everyone else was very bad for the Chargers in that contest. And we know Vidal’s pattern of being good in every other game, so he has to be playing well, right?
I’m not counting on him, which is why Vidal shouldn’t be the starting running back. And the Raiders are in the middle of the road at 18th in fewest fantasy points against opposing running backs, but five have averaged at least 12.4 PPR points in the last five games against Las Vegas.
The reason I like Vidal is because of the expected game script. He has scored at least 17.8 PPR points in each of his last two home games against Minnesota and Pittsburgh, and he had at least 24 total touches in those outings. The Chargers won both of those games by at least two touchdowns, and they are a 9.5-point favorite in this game against the Raiders.
I consider Vidal the No. 2 fantasy pick in most leagues for Week 13. This may be his last game as a starter for the Chargers, Hampton is on the verge of a comeback, and I expect Vidal to come back with a bang.
