LAS VEGAS – Formula 1 held the third annual Las Vegas Grand Prix last weekend in Nevada City. This race is unique and divisive in many ways. Some people like the bright lights that make it appear to be set in Mega-City One or f zeroOthers are angry at the extreme commercialization of F1, And this time, Arce was on the field, one of our periodic visits to the series, The race we saw was somewhat wet, which seemed to put McLaren’s Lando Norris in control of the championship,
At least that’s how it felt when I left the track on Saturday night. Within a matter of hours, Norris and his teammate (and one of his two title rivals) Oscar Piastri were both disqualified for having the “legal plank” under the car too worn – more on that in a moment.

Symbol of the new F1
Unlike most Grands Prix, Liberty Media promotes it itself. It spent half a billion dollars preparing for the 2023 event, some of which was spent on the pit lane and paddock complex, and even more on resurfacing the roads to the standards enjoyed by these outstanding racing cars. The track layout – which resembles a pig on its back – is typical of North American street circuits.
