The Beckham County Sheriff’s Office said emergency personnel had made all necessary evacuations at this time, and firefighters were able to stop the fire’s progress.
At present the workers are working to extinguish the fire. The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to remain vigilant and follow the office’s app for further developments.
The Sheriff’s Office said people who need a safe place to go can go to the Beckham County Barn.

The National Weather Service (NWS) and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management have issued warnings and evacuations for a wildfire north of Sayre in Beckham County until 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
Sayre Emergency Management has issued an evacuation order for residents north of the intersection of North 1880 Road and East 1170 Road. Officials are asking the displaced to move south.
A reunification center is being set up at Sayre Public School.
The NWS spotted a dangerous wildfire 2 miles north of Sayre and said the fire was moving rapidly at about 3 to 5 miles per hour.
The NWS is asking residents to follow all safety instructions from local emergency management officials and warning drivers not to drive while smoking.
Due to severe fire weather and high winds on Sunday, OEM activated its State Emergency Operations Center. Much of Oklahoma is under a red flag warning with winds gusting up to 65 mph, the department said.
