Erin Andrews Fires Back After Coming ‘Under Fire’ Before Lions-Packers

Veteran NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews caused a stir on social media when she answered a fan’s question about potentially joining the profession. Andrews made it clear that those hoping to join the profession would have to Love This is because other things in life need to take a back seat in order to get the job done to the best ability.

“It was said by one of my first professors,” Andrews said. “‘If you don’t want to make $40,000 at your first job, get out. If you don’t want to be told you need a nose job, get out. If you don’t want to get a divorce, get out. If you don’t want to work holidays, get out.'”

“And I don’t say it like that, but I do say you have to love what you do because I miss all the holidays. I didn’t get married until I was 40. Not that it would be your way, but I live out of a suitcase. I miss a lot of things. I miss a lot of weddings. I miss a lot of events. You have to love it for me to be aware of the fact that, ‘I’m going to Thanksgiving next week. ‘Won’t go home’ or ‘Christmas’ have been shortened.

A number of people in the profession called out Andrews for her comments – and one engagement farming social media account suggested she was “under fire” for complaining about the job.

“Hey Click Bet. First of all, Happy Thanksgiving. Second of all, how am I being criticized? I’m saying you have to love the job because you miss a lot of things in your life. Which I do and do. Looks like you missed the whole clip! See you at the Lions for the Packers!” He replied on the engagement farming account.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine also received a sharp response from Andrews, “I appreciate what she’s trying to say, but let’s consider the people who are working 2-3 jobs in retail, warehouses and the service industry right now, just trying to make ends meet. They’re not even getting time with their families.”

The veteran Fox sideline report responded, “Hey Jenna. Go back and watch the clip. The question was focused on being a sideline reporter and what it takes to get to work. What do you miss and what don’t you miss? I was answering the question. It’s part of the segment where we write. I wasn’t complaining I was talking about what the job is like. Not just about wearing a sequin top and hoping to get on camera! You know what I mean?” Means!”

Andrews further stated that it is “the best job in the world.” She’s currently missing Thanksgiving for this afternoon’s NFC North showdown between the Lions and Green Bay Packers in Detroit.
