alden ring nitreneFromSoftware’s massively successful open-world single-player take on co-op survival is getting DLC later this year. abandoned hollows Will launch on December 4, 2025. This is the first major content update for the DLC spinoff, though Nightreign had received previous updates to add fine-tuning for two-player and single-player experiences, as well as introducing an even more punishing Deep of Night mode.
The trailer shows off exactly the gritty, terrifying setting and inventive-looking boss designs we’ve come to expect from Fromsoft. abandoned hollows Will add two more character classes for players to choose from. The book-wielding scholar is a mysterious magic user who “gains incredible advantage through battlefield observation.” This seems to be a good choice for strategy-minded players, while the new Undertaker class favors confidence and power building. There will also be a new area to explore and two new bosses.
We learned yesterday that DLC was in the works for Nightrain thanks to a mention during parent company Kadokawa’s earnings report, but it looks like the new content may not be ready until early 2026. Hopefully today’s announcement will calm down those players who have been reviewing the game on Steam due to the lack of information about the update.
