Part of the challenge is the time it takes. Competing on the show requires practicing five hours a day, which means “my mind hurts, my body hurts,” he told Viall.
Additionally, Dylan “was living out of our Manhattan Beach place right now, close to where the studio is,” he told Viall, admitting that it was difficult to balance the relationship with the competition.
“It’s trying right now,” he admitted on the podcast.
Nevertheless, he told Viall that his relationship with King has generally been shielded from fame, and despite his rise to fame he “wouldn’t say much has changed”.
He said that his girlfriend supports his career. “She knows I love her 100%. So it’s like, we know this is all temporary, so I don’t think anything has really changed,” he told Viall. “I know it’s hard for us right now, but we’re still where we are. We still love each other and yes, we’re in a great place.”
He added, “The good thing that’s changed is that we’ve started traveling together a lot more. Like, a lot of these trips I’ll be doing with brands or whatever, I’ll be taking her with me.”
Will there be any proposal? “Well, she knows the answer. We’re working on it,” Dylan told Viall in March. “Courtney is very simple.”
He added, “It works really well. It’s not like I’m hiding her from the world or anything. She understands the work, all the stuff. She doesn’t really like being on camera.”
