Deebo Samuel’s rapper girlfriend has big social following – Football – Sports

Deebo Samuel is known throughout the NFL for his physical, punishing style of play that has made him one of the league’s most versatile playmakers.

But off the field, the Washington Commanders wide receiver shares his life with someone who has carved out his own following and creative identity: Mahogany Jones, a rapper, songwriter, influencer and entrepreneur with a major social-media presence.

Samuel and Jones began dating in 2019, the same year he entered the NFL as a second-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers, with the star receiver taking a shot last year after recently opening up about his PTSD.

As Samuel built a reputation as one of the league’s most dynamic offensive weapons, Jones was creating a brand of her own. Soon after graduating from North Carolina A&T she launched a clothing line called Shades of Mahogany, showcasing her modeling, design instincts and personal style.

Even after the brand became inactive, he carried that momentum forward, expanding into fashion influencers, songwriting and rap, and later into real-estate work in North Carolina. Today, she regularly shares music previews, behind-the-scenes content, and family moments with hundreds of thousands of viewers across social platforms.

Their relationship deepened with the arrival of their son, Tyshaun Requan Samuel Jr. in 2021. Jones frequently posts videos celebrating his family, including date-night clips, gameday rituals and heartfelt messages from Samuel.

Fans were touched by one particularly viral moment: a handwritten note Samuel gave her that said, “Mahogany, you are my happy place. I love you so much.” Jones has also spoken openly about how the excitement of becoming a father to Samuel calmed his nerves during the pregnancy, revealing in a documentary that he was “so excited” and that he immediately dreamed of raising “a little Deebo”.

Now with Washington after the 2025 offseason trade, Samuel continues to lean on Jones as a continued source of support. Jones attends games with his son, often capturing the emotional highs and lows of each matchup.

Samuel, meanwhile, calls Tyshaun his “good luck charm,” a theme Jones echoed when he shared that his son never wants to go to anyone other than Deebo as he walks off the field.

On the field, Samuel remains one of the commanders’ most productive and reliable weapons. Through Week 11, he has totaled 53 receptions for 470 yards, averaging 8.9 yards per catch, scored five receiving touchdowns, and added 52 rushing yards as Washington relies on his versatility.

His best performance of the season came against the Chargers, when he caught eight passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Whether lining up in the slot, out wide or in the backfield, Samuel continued to provide the same hard-charging style that made him a star in San Francisco.
