On November 25, East late show The host posted a video on YouTube with longtime collaborators Barbara Gaines and Mary Barclay, giving a “shout out” to their friend Seth.

“The President of the United States now wants to fire Seth Meyers,” David said. “I thought, ‘This is so much fun. How do you think this will go?’ Anyway, I’ve never been more proud of Seth Meyers.”

David recalled how he, Mary, and Barbara all worked the late show In the old days, Seth said, “It works a magic,” before quipping, “Just remember Seth, things happen.”

Later in the video, when Barbara says “Shut up, piggy”, David continues to criticize Trump for his infamous conversation with a reporter on Air Force One after he was asked questions about Jeffrey Epstein.

David said, “Stupid’s amazing. It’s absolutely brilliant. There’s no limit to it.” “This will never end. He’s our dictator. He’s not going anywhere.”

Before the video ended, David said that Trump’s behavior was “by far, the worst behavior I’ve seen anywhere. This is worse than that. Think about the worst thing you’ve ever seen humans do. It’s that bad.”

On November 15, Trump shared a Truth Social post that read, “Seth Meyers is suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Last night he was seen in an uncontrollable rage, possibly due to the fact that his ‘show’ is a ratings disaster. On top of everything else, Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him immediately!”

Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first time the President had criticized Seth’s late-night show. In response, Seth addressed the President’s anger during his “A Closer Look” segment. Seth joked, “You guys! They said my name on TV! It’s not often you hear Seth Meyers’ name on TV before midnight.” “Now, as I’ve said before, I like to handle these situations the same way you handle an angry driver who honks the horn and flips you off on the highway – you just ignore them – unless you’re in New Jersey, so technically, it’s a marriage proposal.”
