Candace Parker had a tremendous career as both a student-athlete and a WNBA professional. He began his career at Tennessee and led the team to consecutive national championships in 2007 and 2008. He was rewarded with numerous awards for his stellar times at the collegiate level. In his three years, he averaged 19.4 points and 8.8 rebounds in 110 games. The 6’4 forward was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks as the first draft pick in 2008.
Another college basketball great who made his career through the ranks of Tennessee is Bruce Pearl. He coached the Tennessee men’s team from 2005 to 2011. In his six-year tenure, he led the team to six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and the Elite Eight in 2010.
Pearl was well acquainted with a rising star in Tennessee named Candace Parker. Apparently, he knows her so well that he revealed some of her dating secrets during the recent game between Rutgers and Tennessee.
Pearl joked about Candace Parker, “Candace was a beautiful, young student athlete at Tennessee. She was dating one of my guys and she was talking to two or three other guys at the same time.”
Parker, who was sitting next to him, started laughing out loud, as the co-host said:
“You can’t air his dirty laundry like that.”
Pearl did not stop here.
“Hey Candace, do you remember a few times it happened, I would come to you and say, ‘Honey, please don’t break up with him tonight.’ ok? You remember that. I really did. And we had that relationship. Candace was mature beyond her years,” he added.
Candace said, “I was in your office, talking to you, and I think the thing I love about the University of Tennessee is the relationships. And that’s what lasted from 2004-2008.”

When Pearl revealed about Candace’s dating life, online fans went absolutely crazy.
“Candace begging you not to break up with him tonight just to save your player from playing poorly is ridiculous,” one fan laughed.
One fan joked, “He had busts in both locker rooms.”
One fan commented, “I respect that he waited to tell this story until he was in her presence.”
“Candace not denying it is the best part,” said another.
Another replied, “Please don’t break up with her… my job depends on it.”
