Daisy Ridley’s Aquazzura Heels Put a Side Spin on the Bow Pump Trend

Bow pumps are everywhere this season, and Daisy Ridley added her own version to the lineup by wearing Aquazzura’s Very Bow Tie Suede Pumps on her way to “Live with Kelly & Mark” in New York City on Monday.

The pumps came in black suede with a pointed pointed toe and high stiletto heel. The Vamp sloped down at the front while the rear counter remained closed and structured. Along the outsole, the upper was cut through the arch to create an open section where a knotted bow attached from the front of the shoe to the heel at the top of the foot.

Ridley wore a grey, ankle-length dress and pumps with a long black coat to ward off the city cold. She kept the palette of her look neutral, except for a pop of color with her pink pout.

Bow-accented pumps have been around for a while, though most place the bow at the front or back of the shoe. At Paris Fashion Week in October, Lana Del Rey wore Valentino’s Bow Slingback with an oversized bow placed at the vamp. Brie Larson opted for a white Aquazzura pair in New York, where the bow sat just behind the ankle above the side cutout. Mischa Barton’s Bora Aksu slingback in Munich and Teyana Taylor’s Alexander Biermann Clarita Bell pair in Los Angeles both used a front bow as the main focal point. Ridley’s Aquazzura pumps added another option to that mix, moving the bow to the side and using a cutout to frame it.

Aquazzura’s bow tie family has become a regular presence on the celebrity circuit, appearing with the likes of Meghan Markle, Emma Stone, and Sarah Jessica Parker with the brand’s mesh pumps and peep-toe sandals. Outside the red carpet, the label has also expanded into Aquazzura Casa, a home and tableware line featured in hospitality collaborations such as the Collegio alla Querci retreat in Tuscany.

Ridley is in promotion mode for “We Bury the Dead,” a thriller that follows Ava, a body retrieval unit member in Tasmania after a military disaster, as she searches for her missing husband in an isolated area where the dead begin to reanimate.
