D.C. Shooting Suspect Worked With C.I.A.-Backed Unit in Afghanistan

The CIA and an Afghan intelligence official said the shooter was part of an Afghan “partner force”, known as Zero Unit, which was trained and supported by the agency in the southern province of Kandahar.
