A Holland America Line passenger has gone missing from a cruise in the Caribbean.

According to the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM), 55-year-old Ann Evans did not return to the cruise line’s Rotterdam ship during a stop in Port St. Maarten, Philipsburg on November 20. Evans is an American citizen.

“At approximately 10:00 p.m., she departed the ship on an organized island tour,” officials said in a missing persons alert on November 26. “During the tour, Ms. Evans disembarked from the bus in Marigot, French Saint Martin… but did not return to the bus or cruise ship.”

Holland America said in an emailed statement that the company “immediately notified local authorities and we are working closely with them to confirm the guest’s whereabouts.” Rotterdam is currently on a 12-day Caribbean sailing that departed from Fort Lauderdale on November 16.

Police said authorities on the Dutch and French sides of the island have been informed and search efforts are ongoing. Law enforcement asked anyone with information regarding Evans’ location to come forward.

The KPSM can be contacted by calling the local number +1 (721) 542-2222, and the French Gendarmerie by calling +590 590-29-25-25.
