Cowgirls’ Season Ends at MW Championships

Las Vegas, November (November 26, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirls’ season ended Wednesday night at the Mountain West Volleyball Championships. The third-seeded Cowgirls were defeated by No. 6 seed San Diego State in the tournament. The score of the set became 25-21, 25-20 and 25-19.

The Aztecs controlled things from start to finish on Wednesday, scoring the first three points of the match and not looking back. Wyoming did not get a lead in the first or third sets. The Cowgirls lost .216 while San Diego State lost .294.

Wyoming recorded more blocks than the Aztecs 8-2 and had one more service ace (5-4). However, the league’s number one Diggs team was outrebounded by SDSU 50–39 in the match and had 15 fewer kills. San Diego State also had a short service error.

sarah holcomb Led the Cowgirls on both sides of the net in their final match in the Brown and Gold. Holcomb was the only Cowgirl to tally double-digit kills with 11 and an efficiency score of .455 in the loss. Holcomb also recorded a match-high five total blocks. The senior finished her career ranked fourth in program history in career hitting percentage and sixth with 538 career blocks.

eddie cook And jordan sandy There were six and five murders respectively that night. Both also recorded three blocks each. Paige Lauterwasser And emma winter Contributed with four kills each, while Lauterwasser had 11 digs.

skylar erickson She led the way with 13 digs in the loss and finished with 1,048 points for her career, placing her seventh on the all-time career digs list. Lily LaFleche Led the Cowgirls with three service aces. Erickson and Sandy had the other two.
