Comedian, actor and renowned Eagles fan, Shane Gillis, will bring his comedy style to South Philly next year for a special one-night-only performance at Lincoln Financial Field.
Announced this week, the comedian — who has a hit Netflix show, Tires, which is set to return for a third season — will perform a one-night-only show for special guests at Lincoln Financial Field on July 17, 2026.
Perhaps his friend, Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will be in attendance?
John Clark spoke to Dallas Goedert after the Eagles’ win over the Giants and comedian Shane Gillis canceled the interview.
Organizers of the upcoming event say that the upcoming show at The Link will be the largest headline show of Gillis’s career as over 60,000 people are expected to attend.
He said that the special guests of the program would be announced later.
“Lincoln Financial Field is thrilled to set the stage for one of the world’s greatest entertainers, Shane Gillis, this summer,” Brian Napoli, senior vice president of corporate partnerships for the Philadelphia Eagles, said in a statement. “Shane has always been an incredibly supportive Eagles fan with local roots tied to the area, which will serve as a great homecoming. We value the relationship we share with Shane and look forward to creating a special evening for him and his many fans at Lincoln Financial Field on July 17.”
Organizers also said the upcoming event will be a homecoming for Gillis as he was born in Mechanicsburg and graduated from West Chester University.
He also lived in West Philly for a while and, in 2016, won Philly’s Funniest Tournament at the Helium Comedy Club in Center City Philadelphia.
Since then, he has seen his career take off with high profile hosting gigs on Saturday Night Live and the ESPYs, as well as a Netflix special and series, Tires, which he writes and serves as an executive producer.
He’s also a lifelong Eagles fan, who should feel right at home at The Links.
