Coca-Cola is bringing back Diet Cherry Coke

Coca-Cola is bringing back its iconic soda flavor: Diet Cherry Coke.

Food review platform Snackolator posted on Instagram this week that the flavor is returning permanently in early 2026.

The post reads, “I spoke with a Coca-Cola rep at the NACS show and he confirmed this is a ‘durable’ item, meaning it’s intended to stick around (not a ‘limited’ flavor) so hopefully it will sell well enough this time to stick around forever,” the post reads.

Snacklater also said that the flavor will be released in 20-ounce bottles as well as 12-packs at all retailers.

This flavor was first introduced in 1985, and was rebranded as “Diet Coke Feisty Cherry” until it was discontinued in 2006, brought back in 2018, and discontinued again according to Geekspin.

This comes amid Coca-Cola’s push toward greater growth, as the company reported a 5% rise in net revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 26, despite inflation and challenges related to the weather and geopolitical environment.

“We benefit from operating in a vibrant and flexible industry with ample potential for growth,” Chairman and CEO James Quincey said during the company’s third-quarter earnings call in October. “By leveraging our systems capabilities to provide consumers with choice across our total beverage portfolio, we continue to build momentum to grow our industry and expand our lead over the long term.”

The Atlanta-based company also said its Diet Coke products generally saw “strong volume growth” last quarter.

“We are investing behind our brands, bringing broader strength to our total beverage portfolio,” said Heinrich Braun, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
