This year’s “CMA Country Christmas” on ABC will feature first-time hosts Jordan Davis and Lauren Daigle, both of whom are from Louisiana.
Daigle is celebrating her Louisiana roots on the show by performing with New Orleans music stalwarts, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
“Honestly, I love jazz music at Christmas,” Daigle told On the Red Carpet. “Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, just those big bands, big orchestras, so just like a little cap to the Christmas music that I love, I’m really excited.”
“The press hall, I mean it’s the center of Louisiana,” said Davis, who has planned his own special collaboration.
“I’m doing ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain’ with Little Big Town, who are some of my favorite voices,” he said. “So it would be amazing to be able to perform with them.”
This year’s all-star lineup for the annual holiday season special also includes Megan Moroney, Riley Green, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Bebe Winans, as well as a brand-new Christmas song from Lady A and Parker McCallum’s “CMA Country Christmas” debut.
“It’s one of those shows,” Lady A’s Dave Haywood told On the Red Carpet, “Every year when it comes on, my family, we’re all around, gather and watch it. So it’s become a tradition for us to be a part of it for several years now.”
“I just love Christmas, I love the holidays, it’s my favorite time of the year,” Parker McCallum said. “So to be a part of something that, you know, gives you a chance to cheat and have a little early Christmas, I would never say no to that.”
“CMA Country Christmas” airs December 2 at 9/8c on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Disney+.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
