20 years ago this week (November 29), 16-year-old Chris Brown released his self-titled debut studio album and the triple platinum-certified Hot 100 No. 1 “Run It!” Had a blast with. And in celebrating that anniversary, Brown – under the guidance of manager Anthony “Ant” Wilson It turns out to be an even more significant year for the Tycoon Music K-singer-songwriter, during which he has achieved many other career milestones.

Witnessing Brown’s second GRAMMY win, Wilson – a 2025 R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players honoree – told board In August, “Winning isn’t everything, but it feels good. And continued recognition of his artistry continues to establish him as one of the biggest artists in the world.”

In between those Grammy bookends, Brown has helmed what has been logged by Billboard Boxscore as the highest-grossing live outing to date, the Breezy Bowl XX World Tour. In 39 cities and 48 shows, his 20th The anniversary and debut stadium run (June 8–October 16) grossed $300 million and attracted 2 million fans across North America, Europe and the UK, with Tiller as a special guest during the run and with Grammy-nominated artists Jhené Aiko and Summer Walker on selected dates, Brown also welcomed pop-up performances from Usher, 50 Cent, Glorilla, Tyga, Bow Wow, Sexy Redd and Davido during its run. Did it. A three-hour, 56-song set.

It is Brown’s tireless energy and love of performance that Wilson first focused on strategically when he became the global star’s manager 10 years ago, succeeding predecessors Tina Davis and Mike Gee.

“We started dating clubs and spots,” recalls Wilson. “Then we got heartbreak on full moon Tour (2018 with HER, 6lac, and Rich the Kid). I just wanted to get him back into the touring part of the business because I felt that’s where he could touch the fans the most. That was my initial goal.”

Wilson also created the annual Tycoon Music Festival. This year the festival, presented in collaboration with Live Nation and 313 Presents, celebrated its sixth anniversary on April 19 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. Directed by Brown, the lineup also stars Scilla Baby, Fabolous, Gucci Mane and Wiz Khalifa, with surprise appearances from Sexy Redd, G-Herbo, Payroll Giovanni and Tee Grizzley.

Based in Las Vegas, like Brown, Wilson recently spoke board About what’s next on the drawing board for him and his superstar client.

What’s it like managing a tireless artist like Brown?

We don’t sleep much here (laughs). This is because he keeps working in the studio in his home. He’s in that studio every day until we put out an album. And then the hard part before that is figuring out what songs are going to be on the album. Chris also has a billion ideas about different things. So another difficult thing is to try to bring those billion ideas down to at least 10.

Talk about the synergy between the two of you, which is an important part of the artist/manager collaboration.

I met Chris when I was working with Bow Wow. That’s when Tina was involved. She is also a friend of mine. So whenever he needed any help, I helped. Mike ji was also there; Then we were all together. But Chris is my brother first and second is this business, I don’t expect him to win. He Is To win because that’s my family. So that’s why there is no sleeping because I have to make sure he sleeps. I don’t know if there’s a blueprint for managing an artist. Every artist is different. But there is one main thing: understanding the artist and that artist’s fans.

Very few actors have made the successful transition from teen to adult star. Why was Brown able to cross that bridge?

A lot of artists can do one thing; They can either sing or dance. But not many artists can perform the way he does: he’s singing, he’s dancing, he’s crying, he’s laughing, he’s flying, he’s doing everything he can to please the fans. He will take less money to make the production what it is. He just wants (his performance) to stand out. Breezy XX was originally three and a half hours long. I say, “Chris, come on. We’re going to work overtime on every show. Like I said before, that’s the hardest thing… trying to get things to a level where we’re both happy (laughs).

Looking at 20 There is a rumor of a new album coming this yearth Birthday. Any hints about the next project?

There’s always an album. Its name always changes. The songs always change. Even the day before the last album came out, we were in the studio putting down another song. So I can’t tell the name or date of the album. I’ll leave it open because he might wake up and say let’s put it out next week. However I am ready. I have this (album) at the moment, but it changes every week.

What else is next? a concert film A A la Taylor Swift and Beyoncé or a return to acting?

He loves and wants to act. There are acting classes, and he’s preparing for that. I also think the Super Bowl would be a great place for him. I believe it will happen.

Has there been any proposal on that front?

We will see now.

How is he overcoming the negativity he still faces as you work to advance his career?

It’s nothing I’m not used to at this point. We just smile and keep walking. I try to show improvement with actions rather than just words, you know? I think this is the best way. But his children brought him down to earth. He is a great, devoted father. I also think Chris’s fans love him so much because they can relate to him. He’s a real person who has gone through things that others have but he did it in front of the world. So I feel like that’s his legacy: to live life with everybody.

Now that Verzuz is back, is the long-rumored Usher/Chris Brown match-up a strong possibility?

It can be possible. Usher and Swizz Beatz are my friends; Swizz talked to me about this recently. If it makes any sense, I’m not saying no.

Besides your ownership of Tycoon Festival, what other projects are you working on?

I also work with 50 Cent in a company called Green Light Gang. At the moment we have 40 TV shows (in the program) and a few movies. We’re also going to build a production company in Shreveport, Louisiana. So this is my new baby, television.
