The Oklahoma City Thunder are loaded with some of the best players in the league, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the way. As one of the primary stars, Chet Holmgren is also a pretty big name on the Champions roster.

Despite the spotlight being on the stars, the Thunder still have some underrated players on the roster. This includes Isaiah Joe, a sharpshooter who not many people are talking about.
Holmgren believes Joe deserves to be in the three-point shootout
For a team that relies mostly on Gilgeous-Alexander on offense, they need some shooters to go along with the reigning MVP. Most of the time, he’s playing with decent three-point shooters, but Joe is probably the best sharpshooter on the team.
Joe is shooting 41.8% from beyond the arc this season, and he shoots 5.4 threes per game. This is a fantastic statistic that shows Joe’s talent as a shooter.

Despite this consistent excellence over the years, he has not received an invitation to the three-point shootout during All-Star Weekend. This is usually a confirmation of the reputation of a shooter, but who has never been a part of the event.
That’s why Holmgren is campaigning for his partner. If he gets the nod to the All-Star Game, it would give the Thunder another name to field during All-Star Weekend, along with Gilgeous-Alexander and possibly Holmgren.
“That’s what makes him dangerous, his ability to execute that shot in different ways and shoot 40% while doing that,” Holmgren said before their game against the Bucks.

“He deserves to be out there for the 3-point contest. I’m sure it’s something he’d love to do. And I’m sure if he got into it, he’d win it. The league needs to send that invitation.”
Joe would probably welcome the opportunity because if he wins he could be called the best shooter in the league. It will be a challenging task, but Joe is talented enough as a marksman and can compete at the top.
