I don’t think a program cover has ever made me laugh.

That changed today when I saw Patson Daka put his finger to his lips.

He completely silenced his opponents with the goal he scored in the win against Stoke last week, but in the wider context of what Leicester City are going through I just thought, “Okay, this is a bit strange”.

Of course, this is the week that the never-mentioned and barely acknowledged hearings into Leicester City’s alleged spending breaches began. (Now shut up, stand in a corner and whisper this scandal in my ear).

Ask Fox boss Marty Cifuentes, and get a polite “It’s not my place to comment on this.” Ask the club, nothing else. This has been a question about the Premier League and the English Football League and nothing of substance has been shared. (To know us, you have to open Bedlam at the end).

Earlier this month club owner, chairman and interim chief executive Khun Aiyawat ‘Top’ Sriwardenaprabha sat down for an interview with the club’s website and talked about how he wants a closer relationship and more open dialogue with supporters.

There was reference to the difficulties the club is facing, but no explicit comment was made about the legal battle they are fighting as they try to avoid a points penalty.

So yes, fingers to lips and pipe down. The silence has been deafening.

And like I said, I couldn’t help but laugh at the audacity of that front cover.
