Champions League recap: Arsenal-Bayern, PSG-Tottenham

Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League was packed with exciting fixtures, and Wednesday’s matches produced some incredible and shocking performances.

Arsenal faced Bayern Munich in a matchup of the top two teams in the Champions League table, and it was the Gunners who emerged victorious on home soil as goals from Jurien Timbers, Nonny Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli gave them a 3–1 win. Holders Paris Saint-Germain similarly won 5-3 against Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid beat Internazionale 2-1.

But the most surprising result was none other than Liverpool’s 4–1 defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven. Dominik Szoboszlai canceled out Ivan Perisic’s early penalty, but the Dutch club stunned the Anfield crowd by scoring three unanswered.
