17:49 CET – The team lineups are in for tonight’s two early kick-offs, as Monaco travel to Cypriot champions Pafos and FC Copenhagen host Kazakh outfit Kairat Almaty.

The main piece of news is that Paul Pogba once again starts on the bench for the Monegasques, having made his long-awaited return to action with a brief cameo against Rennes on Saturday.

17:00 CET – Good evening and welcome back to our live coverage of Matchday 5 in the UEFA Champions League as we look ahead to a truly blockbuster night of action!

Tonight’s headline clash sees Premier League leaders Arsenal host Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich at 21:00 CET, with the league phase’s top two sides facing off in a high-stakes affair in North London.

Both teams boast a 100% winning record from their opening four games, as Arsenal look to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to 16 matches, while Bayern have come out on top in 17 of their 18 competitive outings this term (D1).

Elsewhere, other standout games at 21:00 CET include Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain vs Tottenham, while Real Madrid, Liverpool and Atalanta also take to the field later on.

However, before all of that, there are two games kicking off at 18:45 CET, with Cypriot champions Pafos hosting Monaco and Kairat Almaty travelling to Denmark to face FC Copenhagen.

Tuesday, November 25th

23:30 CET – Well, an epic night in the best competition in the world comes to an end! As Chelsea move into the top eight of the league phase and Barcelona suffer another setback in the headline act tonight, attention quickly turns to Arsenal vs Bayern in a fascinating table-toppling clash tomorrow evening.

23:00 CET – In a night of upsets, Chelsea will take the headlines after a sensational display against LaLiga holders and long-time rivals Barcelona. It was a perfect performance from Chelsea, who, all of a sudden, are developing into one of the top sides in Europe. 

A bad night for Manchester City and Newcastle United, however. More setbacks for two clubs struggling for consistency this season.

22:50 CET – But that equaliser would be short-lived as substitute Jonathan David grabs a dramatic winning goal for Juventus.

22:44 CET – Bodo/Glimt have scored a dramatic equaliser from the penalty spot! Juventus might well have to settle for an underwhelming point. For Bodo however, this is turning into a night that will live long in the memory.

22:34 CET – Chelsea are 3-0 up against Barcelona, whose high line has been utterly exposed and blown apart extraordinarily. Chelsea have been great but Barcelona? Woeful.

This time, Chelsea picked the perfect passes to get in behind, leaving Liam Dealp to side-foot an effort into the bottom corner.

22:33 CET – Scott McTominay has scored again! This one was a bit more fortunate as an attempted acrobatic kick took a huge deflection on its way in. Napoli 2-0 ahead now.

22:25 CET – Borussia Dortmund are flying in the second half after Jan Foyth got sent off for Villarreal in the 53rd minute. 

Serhou Guirassy would miss the resulting penalty but has since completed a brace and Dortmund have also added a third to take a commanding lead. 

22:23 CET – Who else? Scott McTominay heads in from close range to put Napoli ahead after Rasmus Hojlund missed a penalty minutes before – an important game for Napoli to win here.

22:20 CET – Juventus are now ahead in Bodo after a flying start to the second half that has seen them score twice and have a goal disallowed.

22:15 CET – It has gotten from bad to worse for Manchester City as Patrik Schick doubles the visitors’ lead!

It is not all bad news for the English clubs though, as Estevao has found the roof of the net with a sensational strike inside the box to put Chelsea 2-0 ahead and in dreamland. It was a brilliant run and even better finish from the Brazilian superstar. 

One of the great goals of this great rivalry. 

22:13 CET – Marseille have come from a goal down to lead Newcastle and it is that man Aubameyang again with another world-class finish. Truly rolling back the years.

22:06 CET – Juventus are level in Bodo after a fast start to the second half and it is Lois Openda’s first goal as a Juve player.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has equalised for Marseille after taking the ball around Nick Pope before finding the back of the net from an extraordinary angle. 

22:05 CET – The second halves across Europe are just getting underway, this should be good!

21:53 CET – Below are the half-time scores in the late games – Dortmund snatched a lead against Villarreal just before the whistle through Serhou Guirassy.

21:45 CET – Things have just gotten worse for Barcelona on the brink of half-time… They have lost Ronald Araujo to a red card after his second yellow! Down 1-0 and down to 10, they have a seriously uphill task at Chelsea now. 

21:29 CET – After some huffing and puffing, the deadlock is broken at Stamford Bridge with Jules Kounde scoring an own goal to hand Chelsea a 1-0 lead. You can’t say it hasn’t been coming; the Blues have also had one goal chalked off!

21:27 CET – Moving way up to the Arctic Circle, Bodo/Glimt have gone ahead against Italian giants Juventus. Could there be a famous win incoming for the Norwegians?

21:23 CET – Alejandro Grimaldo has fired Bayer Leverkusen into a shock 1-0 lead at Man City! The Spanish wingback absolutely leathered his shot into the net after a slick break from Bayer.

21:06 CET – Newcastle are the first scorers of the late games! They have taken an early 1-0 lead over at Marseille through Harvey Barnes, who is on fire these days. Barnes has scored in three consecutive matches now.

20:43 CET – Both early kick-offs saw the away side come out on top as Union SG stunned injury-hit and 10-man Galatasaray 1-0 thanks to a 57th-minute strike by Canadian striker Promise David.

20:35 CET – Benfica have wrapped up the three points against Ajax as Leandro Barreiro scores a second for the visitors in the 90th minute. Game over.

That would be the last major action of the match as Benfica secured their first points of the league phase whilst Ajax stay rock bottom on zero points –  an important win for Jose Mourinho’s men.

20:00 CET – With just one hour until kick-off in tonight’s late matches, the team news is in across some big matches. 

Firstly, from the standout encounter of the evening, as Chelsea host Barcelona, Enzo Maresca has named Estevao and Alejandro Garnacho in his starting lineup ahead of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

Which of Estevao, Garnacho and Pedro Neto will play false nine remains to be seen but it is another interesting tactical tweak from the very flexible Maresca. 

As for Barcelona, Hansi Flick has left Marcus Rashford and Raphinha on the bench, with both returning from injury.

Over in Manchester and Pep Guardiola has rung the changes as Man City host Bayer Leverkusen, with Nico the only player starting who started against Newcastle last weekend. 

The final big game of interest this evening sees Newcastle United travel to Ligue 1’s high-flying Marseille in an intriguing clash.

Neither side has been fully convincing in the Champions League this season; in fact, they are both coming off surprise draws in the competition. As a result, they will be keen to right some wrongs tonight.
