Interim manager Martin O’Neill says Celtic’s Scottish Premiership match at Hibernian on Sunday is unlikely to be his final game in caretaker charge.
The veteran Celtic boss returned to the club last month following Brendan Rodgers’ shock resignation.
Columbus Crew head coach Wilfred Nancy is expected to replace O’Neill, who has won five of six games during his interim tenure.
The 73-year-old had thought the trip to Easter Road would be his last, but says there is now a “strong possibility” he will lead the side for Wednesday’s home match in Dundee.
“I thought it would be my last game, but I got news yesterday that the process is still ongoing,” O’Neill told BBC Scotland.
“It’s something to do with the paperwork, I didn’t go into the ins and outs of it.
“There is a strong possibility that I will be in charge for Wednesday’s game and I think that’s for sure.
“The process is ongoing, but it will come into effect next week.”
