Caitlin Clark Sends Message After Engagement Announcement

Before Kaitlin Clark became a WNBA star with the Indiana Fever, she had one of the most notable careers in women’s college basketball with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Clark rewrote the NCAA record books as Division I’s all-time leading scorer, led the nation in both scoring and assists for multiple seasons, and guided Iowa to appearances in the national championship game in 2023 and 2024.

He collected numerous accolades, including two Wooden Awards and two Naismith Awards for national player of the year and three Big Ten Player of the Year awards, and his impact on and off the court made him one of the game’s best-known players.

Among the players who shared the court with Clark during that historic era was guard Gabby Marshall, a reliable starter and defensive presence who played with Clark throughout her entire Iowa career. Marshall’s steady play and leadership were integral to the Hawkeyes’ success from 2020 to 2024.

On Sunday, Marshall announced her engagement to her longtime boyfriend Spencer Touro. The 25-year-old shared the news on Instagram.

“2-18-26 We got engaged!! 💍 So excited for this next chapter of our lives! And we’ve found a new friend to join us on this journey 🐶,” the caption reads.

Former teammates offered congratulatory comments. Clarke led the celebration with two enthusiastic messages, writing, “LET’SSSSS RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEiest sssssssssssssssss.” followed by “Congratulations sista.”

After college, Marshall decided not to pursue a WNBA career and instead focused on her academics and earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy at the University of North Carolina. Although their paths diverged, Clarke and Marshall have maintained a strong bond, regularly supporting each other on social media and in person.

Recently, Marshall revealed that she will be relocating to Indianapolis with her fiancé, as her partner has accepted a job there – the same city where Clark plays for the Fever.
