Your game collection says a lot about you. Along with a cute new game, you can also give your collection a space that’s completely personalized. boxroom is a building sim whose entire purpose is to create a place to show off your game library. You can select furniture, paint, and lighting, then you can choose games from your Steam library to display on your virtual shelves. The titles appear in game boxes, making it reminiscent of the days when game collections had to be physical. Once completed, the room acts as a launcher, allowing you to boot a title from the Game Box. The demo is now available, and the team said so boxroom Will launch in Early Access soon.
It’s a fun idea, although it’s unlikely you’ll be able to fit your entire collection even in this virtual space if the number of games in your Steam library starts to number in the hundreds or thousands. Like the IRL location, you’ll need a warehouse rather than a beautiful, cozy room.
